USA: Portland transport agency TriMet has awarded New Flyer of America a contract to supply five battery buses, the manufacturer announced on September 28. The order is being partly financed through a Federal Transit Administration grant.
New Flyer will supply its 12 m Xcelsior model, under a contract that also includes charging hardware. TriMet is partnering with Portland General Electric to purchase and maintain the charging infrastructure.
