INDIA: PPP concessionaire L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad has extended Keolis’ contract to operate and maintain the network for another three years.

The extension to the contract was granted on March 2 and is due to begin on November 29.

Hyderabad’s automated metro network, which opened in 2017, consists of three lines and 57 stations. At 69 route-km, it is India’s second longest, and is used by over 250 000 passengers per day.

Keolis has been operating the metro since it opened, and claims an overall passenger satisfaction rating of 93% and a 99·5% record for punctuality.
