CHINA: Shenzhen Airport Co has awarded the CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems joint venture a 453m yuan contract to supply an Innovia 300 automated peoplemover.

The 2·6 km line which is scheduled to enter service in 2020 would connect an airside satellite to the airport’s Terminal 3, which opened in 2013 and is predicted to be handling up to 82 million passengers by 2025. The contract includes 18 aluminium-bodied APM cars.

Bombardier owns 50% of the shares in PBTS. ‘The Innova APM 300 system is one of our leading airport and urban transportation solutions’, said Jianwei Zhang, President of Bombardier China, on June 20. ‘There are already more than 100 airports in China and we are confident that, with our cutting-edge technology, strong reliability, availability and punctuality, combined with our sharp focus on passenger safety and comfort, our APM system is ideal for China’s fast-growing airports.’
