AUSTRALIA: Two short extensions of the Glenelg tramway in Adelaide opened on October 13.

One extension runs 1 km east along North Terrace from Adelaide Railway Station to Art Gallery, University and Botanic Gardens, and operates every day. The other runs 350 m north from Rundle Mall along King William Road to a single stop at Festival Plaza, which is only served at weekends and on Adelaide Oval event days.

The new services are intended to provide access to the Festival Plaza Precinct, Rundle Mall and the East End shopping, restaurant and tourism area.

West Terrace stop has also been renamed Royal Adelaide Hospital.
