Glendora is one of four planned stops on the first phase.

USA: The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority awarded the main design-build contract for the Foothill Gold Line light rail extension to a joint venture of Kiewit and Parsons, the authority announced on August 14.

The $805·6m contact covers the first phase of the eastern extension from APU/Citrus College in Glendora to Pomona, serving four stops on a 14·5 km alignment. It includes an option for a further 5·3 km, two-station extension from Pomona to Montclair. This would be exercised if additional funds are secured by September 2021, and would bring the total contract value to $1·19bn.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in December 2017, and main works are due to begin next year. It is envisaged that the extension to Pomona would take around five years to complete, with the line reaching Montclair three years later.
