SLOVAKIA: Košice transport authority DPMK has exercised an option for 13 more VarioLF2plus partly low-floor trams from Pragoimex. The €18·8m order will be partly financed from EU cohesion funds.

The two-section trams will be 22·6 m long, with capacity for 44 seated and 131 standing passengers and a maximum speed of 65 km/h.

DPMK placed a €33·3m order for 23 trams in 2014 with an option for a further 23; 10 more were subsequently ordered. The second option will enable DPMK to withdraw all remaining ČKD Tatra T3 trams and some of the T6 vehicles.
