UK: Climate campaign organisations have called on Network Rail to add high-carbon products and activities such as petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, air travel and fossil fuel companies to the list of advertisements which cannot be displayed at its 20 managed stations.

The joint letter to the infrastructure manager from Adfree Cities UK, Badvertising, Rapid Transition Alliance, Possible and the New Weather Institute says such adverts ’work against Network Rail’s objective of encouraging travellers to choose the train and by doing so hinder necessary behavioural shifts to low-carbon modes of transport’.
