ScotRail Class 334 EMU (Photo Eversholt)

UK: Eversholt Rail has awarded Alstom a £12m contract for the mileage-based overhaul 40 three-car Class 334 electric multiple-units which are leased by ScotRail.

The contract announced on January 5 covers the overhaul of pneumatic and electrical components on the Alstom-built 25 kV 50 Hz EMUs, including autocouplers, gangways, batteries, underframe air valves, cab HVAC and toilets.

The work is scheduled to get underway at Alstom’s Polmadie depot in Glasgow in January 2024.
