Speedy Doncaster Rail

UK: Construction equipment hire and services business Speedy has opened a specialist rail centre in Doncaster, with one near Bury St Edmunds scheduled to follow during March.

The Yorkshire site with 13 staff will provide a wide range of battery-powered equipment for rail welding and track renewal and maintenance projects, supporting contractors with meeting Network Rail’s targets for fossil fuel-free work sites.

It will also offer a trackside lighting service, including site surveys, bespoke lighting systems and ongoing maintenance and management throughout a project.

The Bury St Edmunds site will provide tools and equipment for customers in East Anglia.

’Home to many of the UK’s largest rail operators, manufacturers and contractors, the new site in Doncaster represents a strategic investment for our business and demonstrates our commitment to supporting the sector’, said Daryl Doherty, Director of Rail at Speedy. ’Meanwhile, our upcoming site near Bury St Edmunds is well positioned to help contractors fulfilling Network Rail’s £2∙2bn worth of upgrades across the Anglia network over the next few years.’
