UK: Network Rail, Siemens Mobility and Hitachi Information Control Systems commissioned automated route setting at the Three Bridges Rail Operations Centre during December.
‘We are excited to confirm this next step of technology development which will improve train performance by automating route regulation for signallers, reducing their workload together with reducing possible errors’, said Tim Walden, Capital Delivery Director at Network Rail.
‘Our thanks go out to all involved in the successful entry into service which was achieved by the project team working closely with staff representatives from TRB ROC to understand their requirements in relation to the system and training.’
