Hull Trains plans to return to a pre-pandemic timetable from December 12, when it will be running 94 services a week, up from its previous record of 92. ’This represents a significant milestone for Hull Trains as we grow back to recovery and beyond, said Managing Director David Gibson on October 25.

A public consultation has been launched on plans being led by Stockport Borough Council to develop a new station at Cheadle, located between Stockport and Altrincham on the Mid-Cheshire Line which links Manchester and Chester. The cost of the station would be partly covered from the £13∙9m Towns Fund grant allocated to Cheadle by the government in early 2021.

Graeme Castle joined Systra as Operations Director on October 18, taking responsibility for delivery of the consultancy’s engineering project portfolio including the Transpennine Route Upgrade, East Coast Power Supply Upgrade and HS2. He will also lead the regionalisation of Systra’s conventional rail and infrastructure activity.
Keltbray has appointed Neil Lindley as Programme Director for its HS2 portfolio. He was previously Vice-President of Ontario transport agency Metrolinx responsible for the Toronto Union station rail corridor and Toronto LRT, and before that Network Rail Alliance Director on the Trans-Pennine Route Eastern Section.
