Stirling

ScotRail has appointed Luddon Construction as contractor for a £5m upgrade of Stirling station which includes the development of active travel links and a reduction in traffic around the station. Work is due to begin in June for completion in April 2023, with funding from the Scottish government, Stirling Council, Network Rail Scotland and Serco.

Translink has awarded Arcadis Consulting and Ricardo Rail framework contracts to provide Common Safety Method and Interoperability services, including Accredited Notified Body, Designated Body and Assessment Body services ‘or future iterations of these roles’, according to UK and EU requirements.

Network Rail has issued a prior information notice to begin the process of appointing a main contractor to build the Forth Bridge Experience visitor reception centre. A contract is expected to be awarded by the end of 2022 with work on-site commencing in 2023.

Atkins has completed the 1 000th station accessibly audit, at Oban, eight months into a programme to audit all 2 500+ stations over two years to help plan future investment in accessible as part of the government’s National Disability Strategy.
