UK: Commuter train operator c2c has worked with CPC Project Services to deploy a digital intelligence platform which provides operational insight at times of service disruption.
Operation Platform 1 brings together fragmented data from existing live data feeds and APIs into a single easily-accessible digital interface, providing early insight into emerging issues to reduce recovery time and support the management of stranded trains.
It includes driver and unit diagrams, real time service information, train locations and drivers’ hours.
‘The introduction of OP1 means that c2c’s control centres, depots, station staff and managers will have full access and greater insight into real time service information than ever before’, said the operator’s Head of Service Delivery Gail Moore. ‘The platform vastly reduces the time required to search and gather live service information, allowing the team to make quicker and better-informed decisions around alleviating and minimising service disruption.’
Charlotte Hughes, OP1 director at CPC Project Services, said ’we are changing the game for rail operators and are delighted to be working with c2c as an early adopter of this technology. OP1 is automating previously manual operations and providing enhanced situational awareness to enable increased, safer performance. We’re committed to enhancing our capabilities and features to bring our technology to wider operational areas for a data-driven future for rail.’
