UK: Story Contracting and UB Infrastructure Ltd have entered a strategic partnership to supply modular buildings in the rail and wider infrastructure sectors.
Story said UBI’s componentised approach to manufacturing structures to house mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and its cladding to extend the life of existing structures offers a 75+ year design life and significant savings in time, cost and energy consumption.
The companies said they have already achieved major cost and time savings on rail projects, and design work is underway on further structures identified by Network Rail as priority assets.
‘By combining UBI’s market-leading manufactured buildings with our delivery and engineering capability, we are creating new opportunities to reduce cost and carbon while increasing resilience across the industry’, said Gary Brown, Operations Director at Story Contracting, on September 11.
UBI Managing Director Charlie Davies said ‘the Story team has been exemplary in working with an SME to bring new capability to market’.
