UK: Light rail industry association UKTram appointed new and returning board members at its annual general meeting on January 28.

CEO of Transdev UK & Ireland Guillaume Chanussot and Head of Light Rail Knowledge & Development at Network Rail Simon Coulthard have been elected as non-executive directors

‘Light rail has a critical role to play in delivering sustainable, integrated and passenger-focused urban transport and UKTram is central to supporting collaboration, best practice and innovation across the industry’, said Chanussot. ‘I look forward to working with fellow board members, partners and stakeholders to help strengthen the sector and support the continued growth of high-quality light rail.’

Coulthard, who worked on the Rotherham tram-train pilot scheme and chairs UITP’s Regional & Suburban Railways Committee, said ‘I hope to add a new dimension to help UKTram and its members navigate the impending reform of the GB rail industry and be in a stronger position as a result’.

The AGM also confirmed the re-election of Sophie Allison, Managing Director of West Midlands Metro, and Lindsay Murphy, Director of LEMentary Ltd and an independent light rail specialist.
