The Ghanaian Ministry of Railway Development signed an MoU with Indian railway consultancy RITES on October 23.

GHANA: The Ministry of Railway Development signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian railway consultancy RITES on October 23 during the International Rail Conference 2019 in Delhi.

The MoU, signed by Minister of Railway Development Joe Ghartey and RITES Managing Director Rajeev Mehrotra, aims towards long-term co-operation in transport and infrastructure projects in Ghana. RITES says that specific projects have yet to be identified.

‘Economic growth in Republic of Ghana has been on fast pace and this MoU is a step towards building a long term business relationship between RITES and the Ministry of Railway Development’, said Mehrotra. He added the at the agreement ‘will help RITES to enhance its presence in Ghana, while Ghana will be benefited by technical knowledge, experience, training and resources of Indian Railways and RITES’.
