ESTONIA: Rail Baltica project promoter RB Rail and the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Communications have awarded Egis Rail a €171 000 contract to undertake a feasibility and technical study for proposed a tram connection from the future Rail Baltica station in the Ülemiste area of Tallinn to the Vanasadam passenger ferry port.

Egis Rail is to investigate at least three options and select the optimal through a cost-benefit analysis. The study is scheduled for completion in autumn this year.

The three other bidders for the contract singed on February 27 were K-Projekt, Ardanuy Ingenieria and IDOM Consulting with Engineering Architecture and Sweco Projekt.
