Tikhvin-produced flat cars for transporting timber

Arkhbum has awarded United Wagon Co a contract to supply 25 Type 13-6852-02 flat wagons for timber traffic by the end of Q1 2020, taking its fleet of UWC vehicles to 305. They will have Type 18-9855 bogies with a 25 tonne axleload, and a design life of 40 years with maintenance intervals of 1 million km or eight years.

GB Railfreight Peterborough

GB Railfreight has appointed Lindum to build a three-storey operational and training facility in Peterborough. The building to be completed in November will house a control room, three classrooms, board room and staff welfare facilities.

ADIF has awarded a 50:50 consortium of RENFE Mercancías and Transfesa Logistics a five-year €1·32m contract to provide shunting services in the yard at Irún where freight is transefrred betwen the 1 668 mm and 1 435 mm gauge networks. The consortium together with Slisa, has also been awarded shunting contracts in Abroñigal (Madrid), Constantí (Tarragona) and Granollers (Barcelona). Transfesa Logistics has contracts to provide similar services at El Museo (Gijón), Pamplona, Almusafes (València) and A Coruña.

Aurizon

Aurizon has appointed Pam Bains to the position of Group Executive Network with effect from March 9. Head of Strategy & Corporate Development George Lippiatt will act as Chief Financial Officer & Group Executive Strategy while a sucessor to Bains is recruited.

Kazakhstan

Chairman of the Kazakhstan Railways’ management board Sauat Mynbayev has been unanimously re-elected as a Chairman of the management board of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route association.
