Innofreight wagons

Innofreight is to supply 300 InnoWaggons and 1 200 MonTainers XML open-top bulk containers to Budamar, which will use them to transport iron ore from the Slovakia-Ukraine border to Třinecké Železárny’s Třinec steelworks. Innofreight will also supply unloading equipment. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2023.

Beacon has acquired 230 Type FFA-G intermodal wagons as part of a long-term lease deal with Freightliner in the UK. The Ecofret Shortliner wagons were developed by Freightliner and manufacturers Greenbrier Europe and Wabtec UK to carry 9 ft 6 in high 40 ft containers.

Norfolk Southern has appointed Amy Miles as non-executive Chair from May 1; Miles has been a board member since 2014. Alan Shaw, who was appointed President in December 2021, will take the role of CEO on the retirement of Chairman & CEO James Squires on May 1.

The US Railway Supply Institute’s American Railway Car Institute Committee reports that Q4 2021 wagon orders increased by more than 50% over Q3. The order backlog also continued its quarterly increase, while deliveries remained steady.
