CHINA: The 64·2 km Changsha – Yiyang section of the Chongqing – Xiamen high speed line opened on September 6.
Construction began in December 2017. Known as the Changyi section, the 350 km/h alignment includes three stations at Changsha Xi, Ningxiang Xi and Yiyang Nan.
The opening has reduced the journey time from Changsha to Yiyang from 70 to 31 min.
The subsequent Yichang section is scheduled to open in June 2023, extending the line by a further 92·8 km from Yiyang Nan to Changde.
CHINA: A further 91 km section of the Yuxia high speed line was opened on December 26, with the start of revenue services between Changde and Yiyang.

CHINA: Construction has started on three more sections of high speed line totalling 923 km in central China, and on one 310 km line in the Shanghai area which includes a 29 km bridge across the Hangzhou Bay.
