INNOTRANS: Finnish technology company Teleste is showing a range of wireless technologies for the rail and transport industries at InnoTrans 2016.
Among the new developments in this field is a technology that allows transport staff to use mobile devices as surveillance cameras. Footage recorded by mobile devices is transmitted via wi-fi or a mobile data connection to the back office system, which treats it like a regular CCTV camera in its network. Footage can be shown in real time, with a recording kept on file.
The technology is used by police in Paris, but Teleste is looking to use it in the transport market.
