Opened 2019, China’s 39th metro. Single line serving 11 stations.

Work on this automated rubber-tyred light metro (20 km, 21 stations) from Border Gate to Barra, then via the Ponte de Sai Van bridge to Taipa, Cotai and the airport began in 2011. The Taipa Island section from Taipa ferry terminal to Oceano opened on December 10, 2019 (9·3 km, 11 stations).

The second phase across to Macau peninsula and the Zuhai border is under construction, and several extensions and additional routes are projected.
