CRRC Zhuzhou has delivered the first of 15 trams for the tramway which is under construction in the city of Wenshan in in the southeast of Yunnan province.

CHINA: CRRC Zhuzhou has delivered the first of 15 trams for the tramway which is under construction in the city of Wenshan in the southeast of Yunnan province.

The trams are fitted with supercapacitors and lithium titanate batteries which will be charged at the stops.

The 100% low-floor four-section tram has 72 seats and a total capacity of 364 passengers. It has a maximum speed of 70 km/h, and is fitted with supercapacitors and lithium titanate batteries which will be charged at the stops.

The main corridor of the tramway will run for 11·7 km from the Tourist Service Centre to Puzhehei railway station, with a 2·3 km branch to Jiaolian Square.

The line is being built under a PPP contract which also covers operations; opening is scheduled for April 2021.
