NORWAY: Bus operator Nobina has awarded BYD a contract to supply 42 electric buses to operate in Oslo.

The 18 m articulated buses are due to arrive in the second quarter of 2019. They will join two BYD electric buses that are already operating in the city on a long-term lease as part of a trial.

The low-floor vehicles will be equipped with two 150 kW motors and will have capacity for 99 standing and 51 seated passengers. The batteries will be charged at fast charging stations using a roof-mounted pantograph. This is BYD’s first contract for fast-charging electric buses in Europe.
