USA: Chicago Transit Board awarded Proterra a $32m contract on June 13 for the supply of 20 electric buses.

Due to arrive in 2018-20, the buses will be used on routes 66 and 124. The order follows CTA’s testing of two electric buses since 2014.

The contract includes the installation of five fast charging stations at Navy Pier, Chicago/Austin and the Chicago Avenue depot, which will charge the bus batteries in 5 to 10 min. The buses will have a range of 120 to 190 km.
