BOLIVIA: Stadler signed a contract on February 26 to supply 12 light rail vehicles to a light rail network being developed in Cochabamba.

Deliveries are due to begin in August 2019 and Stadler is to provide three years of maintenance. Local media reports suggest that the Metelitsa model will be supplied, with the three-section vehicles having capacity for 200 passengers and a maximum speed of 80 km/h.

The Asociación Accidental Tunari consortium of Joca Joca Ingeniería y Construcciones and Molinari Rail is building the US$537m project, which would comprise three routes. The 27·4 km Green Line would link San Antonio station with Suticollo to the west, the 7·7 km Yellow Line would connect Cruce Rio Rocha/Avenida Sajama with El Castillo, and the 5·3 km Red Line would run from San Antonio to the Universidad Mayor de San Simón’s Facultad de Agronomía in the southeast.
