GERMANY: Promising ‘better hubs, stronger craftsmanship and safe workplaces’, the Ministry of Transport & Digital Infrastructure announced on August 14 that work would start ‘immediately’ on a programme to refresh 167 stations.

The programme is to be undertaken in partnership with Deutsche Bahn, with the ministry saying that it hoped the work would make stations across the country more attractive.

Separately, the Land of Baden-Württemberg and DB have agreed a second station modernisation programme, with the Land allocating €150m, DB €200m and municipalities €80m for 51 projects.
