FERTILISER supplier Agrium has become the first user of the Maintenance MAX wagon fleet management package developed by GE Equipment Services. The Calgary-based firm has adopted the system to increase its understanding and control of the costs of maintaining its fleet of 100 fertiliser hoppers.

Maintenance MAX draws on experience GE has built up from managing its own diverse lease fleet of more than 170000 wagons. It combines details of the customer’s wagon fleet with historical data on the reliability of different materials, suppliers and equipment types, allowing an operator to determine the best wagon repair strategy to ensure fleet reliability.
