ARGENTINA: Under the terms of a co-operation agreement signed in July 2004, the RENFE board has approved the sale of a further 416 locomotives and passenger vehicles to the government of Argentina for €120m. During 2008, the Spanish national operator will supply 105 surplus vehicles, followed by 140 in 2008-09 and 151 in 2009-10.

Argentina is to receive 53 Class 319 diesel locomotives, as well as 11 Class 593 and 21 Class 592 three-car DMUs. Hauled stock comprises 134 Talgo III cars, 113 passenger coaches and 20 luggage vans. A total of 101 ex-RENFE vehicles worth €11·79m have already been sent to Argentina.
