• CAPTION: The prototype for 27 MPXpress locos ordered from MotivePower Industries was unveiled by Toronto transport authority GO Transit on June 14. The 3 600 hp diesels have a higher top speed than the existing fleet, and will allow trains to be lengthened from 10 to 12 cars. GO has options for a further 26 locos

  • CAPTION: At the Transport Logistic exhibition in München last month Rail Cargo Austria subsidiary Car Rail Logistics unveiled a prototype double-deck car-carrying wagon developed in conjunction with Waggonbau Niesky. RCA plans to order up to 300 of the twin-section Hccrrss vehicles, which protect the load against vandalism and theft, as well as removing the need for sealing new cars against the weather before delivery
  • CAPTION: The first of 12 MGT8D Alstom LHB/Bombardier 70% low-floor trams have been delivered to Braunschweiger Verkehrs-AG. The 30 m long cars, ordered in May 2005 for €27m, have seats for 75 passengers and room for 100 standees
