TEETHING TROUBLES continue to afflict the RandstadRail network in Den Haag.Delays in installing the train control system put back the planned opening on September 3, but a provisional metro service between Rotterdam Hofplein and Nootdorp began on September 10. HTM started light rail route 4 between Zoetermeer Javalaan and Monstersestraat on October 29. From November 12 the RET trains were extended to Den Haag CS, sharing tracks with the LRVs. The intention was to open light rail route 3 from Zoetermeer Centrum West to Loosduinen from December 10. But after two derailments on November 29, the Zoetermeer service was withdrawn and the RET trains were cut back to Nootdorp again. Services remained suspended into December pending the results of a technical inquiry.
