ENOTRAC will be highlighting its work designing and commissioning traction power supplies for the Mattstetten - Rothrist new line in Switzerland.

The line is designed to carry a mix of 200 km/h passenger and 4000 tonne freight trains, meaning a wide range of simulations were required to optimise the designs of the sub-stations and electrical feed points. A number of software and measuring tools were used to predict the line voltages and conductor temperatures that would result from different service patterns and equipment failure scenarios.

The line is the first to be designed in compliance with Switzerland’s Regulations for Non-Ionising Radiation Protection, and this required Enotrac to develop verification methodologies. n
