NOVOCHERKASSK Electric Locomotive Works, engineering research institute OJSC VElNII and Rostov State University of Transport & Communications have signed a co-operation agreement under which the Transmash Holding subsidiary will identify RGUPS students for a scholarship programme and provide input to the curriculum.

The agreement is part of a scheme to provide the plant with skilled personnel, which began with a similar arrangement with the South Russia State Technical University. RGUPS President Vladimir Kolesnikov said that Novocherkassk provides excellent facilities for growing the university's technological capabilities, and is well suited to providing practical training. n
