PANAMA: A consortium of Alstom, TSO-CIM, Thales and Sofratesa has been awarded a contract to undertake E&M work for the second line of the Panamá City metro.

The contract is worth US$128·5m and includes an option for three years of maintenance valued at US$6·8m.

Earlier this year Panama Metro selected the Línea 2 consortium of FCC and Odebrecht to build the first phase of Line 2, which is due to open at the end of 2018. The 21 km elevated alignment would run from Nuevo Tocumen to San Miguelito with 16 stations.
