Impression of Hokuriku Shinkansen high speed train.

JAPAN: The exterior and interior styling of the high speed trainsets to be built for the Hokuriku Shinkansen route was unveiled on September 4.

The high speed line between Nagano and Kanazawa is scheduled to open at the end of 2014, cutting Tokyo - Kanazawa journey times to about 2½ h.

The 260 km/h trainsets are being ordered jointly by JR East, which will designate its fleet the Series E7, and JR West where they will be Series W7.

Each set will have 10 motor and two trailer cars, with accommodation for 18 passengers in Gran Class, 63 in Green Car, and 853 in Standard, a total of 934 passengers.
