MEXICO: Fare-payments-as-a-service company Masabi and Mexican consulting, engineering and project company Ibergex have announced a ‘strategic relationship’ to supply ticketing and payment technology in Mexico.

This will combine Masabi’s Justride software platform with Ibergex’s resources and experience of the Mexican public transport market.

The companies aim to advance and digitise the traditional fare collection model in Mexico by combining SaaS and cloud computing to deliver FPaaS which is easy and quick to upgrade, enabling authorities and operators to continually benefit from the latest developments in Account Based Ticketing and Open Payments.

Paulino Rodríguez, General Director at Ibergex, explained that ‘authorities and operators across Mexico are keen to begin the process of modernising the way riders pay and interact with their services, streamlining journeys and increasing convenience and equity for the rider’.

Justride is currently used by more than 140 authorities and operators in nine countries.
