ARGENTINA: Minister of the Interior & Transport Florencio Randazzo opened a suite featuring 11 driving simulators at the national railway training facility, Cenacaf, in Temperley last month.
Supplied by Spanish specialist Lander Simulation, the simulators are intended to recreate precisely the conditions that drivers will encounter on the Mitre and Sarmiento commuter routes around Buenos Aires. According to Randazzo, they represent a wider commitment by the government to invest in the skills and capabilities of the Argentine rail sector.
‘Cenacaf has suffered from the same deterioration as the rest of our railway system, but we intend to invest in it to restore it to international standards’, he explained.n
