UK: DB Cargo UK has reorganised its senior management team, with CEO Andrea Rossi saying ‘aligning our organisational structure to our four key areas of focus – Rail, Maintenance, Services and Property – will strengthen accountability and ensure we are set up to continue to deliver best in class services to our customers and industry stakeholders’.

Roger Neary, who was previously Chief Sales Officer, takes on the consolidated role of Chief Commercial Officer bringing all the company’s commercial activities under one umbrella. This includes Sales and Commercial Development as well as Engineering, which DB has ‘ambitious’ plans to grow.

Kate Turner, who was previously Head of Operations North, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, with additional responsibility for Train Planning. This will bring all the company’s frontline operations under one pillar. Turner joined DB as an apprentice in 2012, and will join the UK management board.

Mark Sargant, who was previously Head of Operations South, will take on the role of Director of Operations with a national remit.

Graham Preston, Head of Operational Projects, will also take on overall accountability for delivery of the company’s activities associated with the introduction of ERTMS in the UK.

Announcing the changes on March 2, Rossi said ‘by reorganising how we work and sharpening our commercial focus, we will be better equipped to seize and respond to market opportunities’.
