UK: Rolling stock engineering company DB ESG has opened a Rail Technology Hub close to its existing offices on the RTC Business Park in Derby.
’The Rail Technology Hub represents our commitment to staying at the forefront of rail innovation’, said DB ESG Managing Director Nick Goodhand on October 22. ’It is a strategic expansion that enables us to better serve our customers, collaborate with industry partners, and develop technologies that will shape the future of rail.’
The Rail Technology Hub houses a expanded digital engineering laboratory with additional 3D printers, as well as spaces and a large workshop with main line access and two tracks with inspection pits. It will provide more space for the Project Services and Future Technologies teams, and space for collaboration with industry partners including work with Turntide Technologies to build, test and refine battery boxes for rolling stock.
