UK: The Railway Industry Association and the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers have agreed to work together ‘as appropriate’ on rail policy matters, to provide mutual support on external affairs including events and to cross-promote their initiatives, workstreams, thought leadership and training courses.
‘A partnership with RIA is a very natural fit’, said IRSE Chief Executive Blane Judd. ‘Combined, our organisations have served railway professionals for over 250 years, sharing common goals around supporting innovation, professional education and the delivery of safe and sustainable railways.’
RIA Chief Executive Darren Caplan said the partnership would ‘deliver benefits for members of both organisations. It will align our respective expertise and networks around shared objectives including improving train control systems and communications engineering across the railway industry for the purpose of ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and freight by rail’.
