UKRAINE: Vinnytsia tram operator VTTU has unveiled a KT4SU tram which it has modernised at a cost of €160 000.

New features include streamlined cabs and interior LED lightning. According to VTTU, the modernised tram will reduce energy consumption up to 40%.

VTTU purchased 80 KT4SU trams from ČKD Tatra between 1980 and 1990; 44 of these are currently in service. These have been augmented by second-hand trams procured from Zürich since 2006.

The 40·2 km metre gauge network in Vinnytsia is electrified at 600 V DC. In December 2014 a 1·9 km extension opened from Barske Shosse to Vyshenka.
