CZECH REPUBLIC: Rolling stock supplier Lostr will be using InnoTrans to launch its new name, Legios, which it adopted with effect from September 1. The renaming is part of the company's strategy to grow its exports and offer diesel locomotives as well as wagons.

Lostr was established in 1992 with the privatisation of the former ZOS Louny state railway workshops, but its railway manufacturing history dates back to 1872. Wholly owned by Czech financial and property company Aliafin since October 2008, the firm is an established supplier of new and modernised freight rolling stock which employs 900 people.

An exclusive agreement was signed in January 2010 to produce Voith Turbo Maxima diesel-hydraulic locos under licence for sale in central and eastern European markets. The first is to be completed by the end of this year.
