STM and Deutsche Bahn agree to jointly develop railway engineering technologies

Sinara Transport Machines’ Centre of Innovation Development and DB Systemtechnik have signed a memorandum of understanding for co-operation in railway research, including joint testing of equipment, development of testing procedures, collaboration with rolling stock manufacturers, joint applications for international projects and sharing experience and best practice. Plans include developing procedures to evaluate passenger comfort, testing European railway equipment and track components on the 1 520 mm gauge network, work on automated train operation and joint activities to introduce digital twins of locomotives and rolling stock.

The Greenbrier Companies

The Greenbrier Companies has renewed and extended its $600m domestic revolving facility and $292m term loan for five years, while the Greenbrier Leasing subsidiary’s non-recourse $200m term loan was renewed and extended by six years. Greenbrier now has no material debt maturing in the next five years and staggered maturities beginning in 2026 and into 2028. ‘Extending Greenbrier’s banking facilities to maintain our strong liquidity profile has been a critical part of our strategy for managing the business through the pandemic and into recovering markets’, said Chairman & CEO William A Furman on August 30.

Liz Emmott

Trainline’s B2B arm Trainline Partner Solutions has appointed Liz Emmott to the new role of Director of Global Distribution & Business Solutions. She started her career at American Express, and in 2016 joined Amadeus as UK Sales Director before becoming General Manager & Commercial Director for Business Travel Accounts (UK, Ireland & Italy).

Anahi Sandoval

Anahi Sandoval has been appointed Human Resources Director at Colas Rail, after a 20-year international career at Schlumberger, where she held several HR leadership roles, and GE Renewable Energy where she was Diversity, Inclusion & Equity Director.

Steer has appointed Andrew McClune as an Associate Director in its London office. In his previous role at KPMG he worked on complex infrastructure projects in Canada, including Calgary’s Green Line LRT, Vancouver’s Broadway Subway and the Evergreen Line.
