EUROPE: Trelleborg has announced its acquisition rail, off-highway and industrial component manufacturer Schwab Vibration Control, which is based at Velten in Germany and has offices in Switzerland and manufacturing partners in Poland, Romania and Turkey.

Trelleborg said the purchase announced on August 10 was part of a wider strategy to enhance its product portfolio and geographical reach.

‘The rail market continues to be an area of growth for Trelleborg, and with the additional skills and capabilities Schwab Vibration Control will bring to our already solid market presence, we expect this to be further accelerated’, said Max Billinger, President of Trelleborg’s anti-vibration and insulation business unit.

The transaction is expected to be finalised in Q4 2016, subject to regulatory approval.
