Russian freight company Globaltrans Investments has announced adjusted revenue of 20·6bn roubles for the six months to June 30, down -1% year on year. Rail freight turnover was up 13%, outperforming an overall market increase of 2%, with gains led by bulk freight including metallurgical traffic (+19%), coal (+17%) and construction materials (+9%). Costs increased 3%, ‘significantly slower than the business volumes and the 9% year on year increase in regulated RZD tariffs’. Globaltrans said its bulk cargo business is well-positioned to benefit from market recovery.
