India's Chittaranjan Locomotive Works produced 220 electric locomotives in the 2009-10 financial year, 10 down on the target of 230. Diesel Locomotive Works produced 258 locomotives, eight above target. Rail Coach Factory produced 1568 cars, up on the target of 1562, while Integral Coach Factory was on target with 1433. Rail Wheel Factory produced 187450 wheels and 65302 axles.
Electrical equipment manufacturer Toyo Denki Seizo is expanding production at its Changzhou RuiYang Transmission Technology joint venture to meet demand in China. Partner CSR Qishuyan will provide finance while the Japanese firm will focus on quality.
