USA: The Georgia Ports Authority has selected RailComm to provide a yard management system to support the expansion of rail facilities at the Port of Savannah.

This forms part of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project to equip the port to handle the larger container ships which have been able to transit the Panama Canal since 2015.

RailComm’s yard management system will enable 83 turnouts and 38 powered derailer devices to be controlled from a either a central office or remote touchscreen kiosks, allowing crews to move wagons carrying containers through the facility without manually changing the turnouts.
