Australia: Public Transport Authority of Western Australia has selected a joint venture of Salini Impregilo and NRW as preferred bidder for the main works contract to build the A$2bn Forrestfield-Airport Link in Perth. Signing is planned by May.

Austria: ÖBB Infrastruktur has awarded SPL Powerlines a contract for the final electrification works at Wien Hbf, including replacing 15·2 km of catenary wires and installation of identification and warning signs.

Poland: PKP PLK has awarded Viyas y Construcciones a 352m złoty contract for modernisation of the 15·7 km Kraków Mydlniki - Krzeszowice section of corridor E30 to increase speeds to 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight.

Singapore: Land Transport Authority has awarded civil works contracts for the construction of three stations on the Thomson-East Coast Line by 2023: Tanjong Rhu is to be built by a Bachy Soletanche Singapore and Wai Fong Construction JV for S$294m, Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co is to build Katong Park for S$293m and work on Marine Terrace is to be undertaken by a Ssangyong Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Engineering & Construction JV under a S$361m contract.

Slovakia: The Zdruzenie TEBS consortium has begun upgrading the Dolný Hriov and Žilina section of the Bratislava - Košice corridor for 160 km/h running. The €18m project includes upgrading track, 16 bridges and culverts, resignalling and modernisation of overhead equipment ready for conversion to 25 kV 50 Hz.
