Australia: Ausreo is to supply more than 3 800 tonnes of steel reinforcement and Holcim 15 000 m3 of concrete for the roof slabs of the future Anzac station in Melbourne.

The Southern Program Alliance consortium of Acciona Geotech subsidiary Coleman Rail, Lendlease and WSP has been awarded a A$536m contract for grade separation works in Melbourne, including the removal of three level crossings and reconstruction of Cheltenham and Mentone stations.

India: Delhi Metro Rail Corp has awarded Alstom a contract to supply signalling and telecoms for Mumbai metro lines 2A, 2B and 7.

Maha Metro Rail Corp has awarded Alstom a contract to supply CBTC signalling for Pune metro lines 1 and 2.

Italy: RFI has awarded Bombardier Transportation a €16m contract to modernise hot axlebox detectors on the high speed network.

On March 29 RFI awarded design and construction contracts worth €608m for the rebuilding of the Apice – Hirpinia section of the Napoli – Bari line. A consortium of Salini Impregilo, Astaldi, Rocksoil, Net Engineering and Alpina will undertake civil works and install railway equipment, including electrical supplies, and build a station at Hirpinia.

Kazakhstan: Integra Construction KZ is to rebuild six sections of line totalling 145 km to raise speeds and safety.

Norway: On April 11 Bane Nor named a consortium of PNC ANS and Hæhre as the winner of a NKr2·20bn contract for double tracking the Eidsvoll Nord – Langset section of the Dovrebanen. This includes a new 4·5 km alignment including a short tunnel, three bridges and the 836 m Minnevika bridge. Opening is planned for 2023.

Sweden: Trafikverket has awarded Atkins and Ramboll a five-year contract to plan the Linköping city section of the proposed Ostlänken high speed line.

Turkey: TCDD has awarded a consortium of HCA Insaat, Imaj Altyapi Ust Yapı and Efecemler Ins Nak Madencılık a TL353·5m contract for construction of an 18·5 km branch linking a soda plant at Yenikent with a junction at Sincan on the Ankara – Istanbul line.

TCDD has awarded a TL97m contract for construction of Yerkoy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdagmadeni and Yıldızeli stations on the Ankara – Sivas high speed line to a consortium of Osman Acar Insaat Gida Enerji and Omer Adiguzel.

USA: CSX has selected Parsons to provide design services for two of four projects forming the 75th Street Corridor Improvement grade separation programme in Chicago. Parsons will work with eight Disadvantaged Business Enterprise partners.

Savage Gulf Rail has awarded RailWorks Track Systems a contract to build rail infrastructure at a new storage and handling yard at a plastics manufacturing facility in Gregory, Texas. Scheduled for completion in 2021, the yard will be able to handle and store up to 1 100 wagons, with washing, loading and maintenance facilities.
