Canada: Alstom has been awarded a C$180m contract to maintain Ottawa's O-Train Confederation Line light rail infrastructure over 30 years.

Finland: Liikennevirasto has awarded Mipro a €22·3m contract for signalling renewals at the marshalling yards at Niirala, Vainikkala and Kotolahti-Mussalo in 2016-18.

France: Oc'via Maintenance has purchased a BaliseLifeCheck system from ERTMSSolutions to support the maintenance of Eurobalises and KVB equipment on the 80 km Nîmes - Montpellier bypass line which opens next year.

India: A consortium of Ansaldo STS (€26m) and ZTE has been awarded a €38·8m contract to supply CBTC and telecoms for the Noida metro.

Malaysia: Mass Rapid Transit Corp has awarded a 1bn ringgit contract for trackwork and maintenance vehicles on the Klang Valley MRT Line 2 project to a joint venture of China Communication Construction Co (51%) and George Kent (49%).

Mexico: Ineco is to supervise construction of a 4 km extension of Mexico City metro Line 12 from Mixcoac to Observatorio with three stations.

Netherlands: ProRail has awarded Arcadis company Asset Rail the performance-based PGO De Peel 2 contract covering track maintenance in Brabant and Limburg for 10 years from January 1 2017.

Norway: Jernbaneverket has awarded Norconsult a NKr15m contract to provide consultancy services for the design of flyovers and tunnels for the electrification of the Trønder and Meråker lines.

Torpol Norge has won a NKr10·4m contract to fence the 14 km Lønsdal - Kjemånasen route to keep reindeer off the line.

Poland: PKP PLK has selected Pnuik to modernise sections of the Kraków - Spytkowice line for 46·8m złoty. A consortium of EL-IN and Torkol is to modernise the Krzyanowice - Chaupki route for 24·2m złoty.

PKM has awarded a consortium of Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman a 25·5m złoty contract to build the Gdynia Karwiny and Gdynia Stadion stations by August 2017.

Russia: Acron Group's North-Western Phosphorous Co has awarded PSK-Remput and Trest-2 contracts totalling 4·5bn roubles to build a 37·7 route-km line to replace road haulage between an apatite-nepheline ore loading facility at Oleniy Ruchey and a railhead at Aikuven.

Saudi Arabia: SAR has awarded Thales a renewable one-year contract for predictive and corrective maintenance of onboard and lineside ETCS Level 2 equipment on the 2400 km North-South Railway network.

Switzerland: AlpTransit Gotthard has awarded Thales a SFr63m contract to supply ETCS Level 2 for the 154 km Cenneri Base Tunnel.

UK: Transport for London has awarded Plasser UK a €22m contract to supply bespoke maintenance and inspection trains for Crossrail.

USA: Phoenix's Valley Metro Rail has awarded Hill International and principal subconsultant CH2M a five-year contract to provide programme management services for seven extensions planned or under construction to create a 106 km light rail network by 2034.

Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation has awarded a joint venture of Granite Construction, Shimmick Construction and Traylor Bros an $875m contract to design and build the 8·3 km Aloha Stadium - Middle Street Transit Center section of the elevated light metro including four stations in 2017-21.

Amtrak has awarded Hill International a $10m, three-year contract to provide programme management support for the Gateway Program to provide additional capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York, including a new Hudson River tunnel.
